Remember when I said the summer was slipping by? Well I am officially down to one month left before I move back down south for school. About a week ago I decided it was time to get serious if I was going to get out and make the most of my time before going back to a full schedule of classes and work and all of that not so fun stuff. With that in mind, I want to talk to you guys about GOMO (Going Out More Often). Eventbrite, a very popular self-service ticketing platform that helps people find and plan events, is running a campaign to combat FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) by promoting GOMO! When I heard about it, it inspired me to find ways to get out more in town and make the most of the rest of my summer. First place? The county fair! I hadn't been in years and have fond memories of going with my family, so I thought it would be fun to head downtown on a Sunday night and check out the festivities. We got there around 8 and decided to buy some ride tickets, but ended up heading to the food booths to wait out the long lines. My absolute favorite thing to do is people watch and this was a prime place to do it. The rest of the night was pretty fun and I kept all the food in my stomach despite being whipped around way too much by all the rides. I was happy I made the choice to do something I normally wouldn't have, instead of staying home and watching netflix like normal. I know, such an exciting life I live! After such a fun weekend, it was back to work, and while I was at my desk, my mind was elsewhere thinking of all the fun things I could be doing. Thursday rolled around and I had had enough. A couple friends and I decided to celebrate the end of the work week a little early by heading to one of the best places in Napa to watch the sunset. My friend Lalo works at a winery, so he brought along some new blends for us to try. Hiking and hanging with friends is such a cheap way to have a great time, especially if you add some vino to the mix! Even if it's not summer, you can't let FOMO get you down. Try heading over to Evenbrite to see what is going on in your area! I bet you'll be surprised with all the fun things happening. Their site is super easy to use whether you're searching for an event to attend or if you're the one putting on the event! If your organization is looking to host an event, they provide event management online and support ticket sales, as well as a variety of other features. Seriously, do yourself a favor and go check it out! I'm just going to end this post with a picture of Wilferd, because he just welcomed me home from work with a wagging tail and everyone should be able to appreciate his cuteness. Enjoy the last bits of summer folks!
